Chronicle - Weapons and Armoury Management System
Aditech Ltd has now teamed up with JML Software to offer an Iris Recognition option to their existing weapons and armoury management software, Chronicle.
Chronicle Firearms is a system designed by police officers for police officers. Chronicle Firearms stores and retrieves all information relating to firearms training and operations in one easy to use system. It will assist compliance with the National Police Firearms Training Curriculum and compliment the Codes of Practice on Police Use Of Firearms and Less Lethal Weapons. The operational data collected by the system enables you to carry out Threat and Risk Assessments based on accurate and current information.
When linked to Chronicle Armoury, the system can provide immediate issue/no issue decisions based on weapon type and officer authorization level and can even prevent non-authorized AFOs from entering an Armoury. A SMS text messaging system can be set up to inform you via mobile phone of any unauthorized attempts to enter the Armoury as well as other useful information.
JML's Weapons and Armoury management system was developed in partnership between the Home Office Scientific Development Branch, (HOSDB) and an operational Police Firearms Support Unit.
City of London Police are the first police force in the country to introduce Iris recognition in to their Armoury issuing and return process. The system works by identifying officers via their Iris before checking whether the officer is authorized and what weapons they are authorized to carry. The system is quick, efficient and ensures officer presence and identification. Details on the press release can be seen here.
Aditech and JML Software Solutions are leading the way in introducing cutting edge technologies into the Chronicle Weapons and Armoury Management system. Using the latest LG Iris Access 4000 platform integrated with the Chronicle Armoury software, it has created a unique, intuitive, fast, and user friendly method of accessing armories and booking weapons in and out. This will remove the need for officers to carry cards or remember PIN numbers and also deals with damaged, dirty or soiled fingers which affects other types of Biometrics.
This unique combination will ensure officer identification and attendance and has the capability to read through contact lenses, glasses and respirators.More details can be found on JML Software Solutions Website.
